Curiosity and wonder guide every walk here, through this city's food, wine, history, and the people who make this community what it is.

Before every tour

The Land We Walk

We are on the ancestral homeland of the Chumash people, who have been the stewards, creators, and storytellers of this coastline for thousands of years, whose relationship with this place remains, and whose knowledge of this place is vital today.

I hold deep reverence for the Chumash elders, artisans, and descendants who hold the first stories of this land, and I carry that reverence with me on every tour I lead.

What I Am Creating

Three ways to experience this city with me.

History · Food · Wine

Ari
Your Guide

A ninth generation Californian, still learning this city's story.

My own connection to this land runs directly through my great-great-grandfather, Selin Carrillo, the last stagecoach driver over San Marcos Pass. His actual route across this land is one I still feel called to retrace.

This past year has been devoted to research, at the Gledhill Library, at the Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation, and at home, piece by piece, in between clients. The research continues, and while I am not a historian, I partner with local experts and our community who have generously guided me along the way.
